Onyeama Osuagwu, Ph.D.

Dr. Onyeama Osuagwu joins Strategic Generation as Research Advisor, providing feedback on new technologies and research that the firm is exploring. He brings a deep professorial technical knowledge to the team and will recommend research direction while exploring research options that can most benefit clients and independent projects.

Onyeama earned his Ph.D. in electrical and computer engineering (applied physics) and an M.S. in applied mathematics from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. In addition, he has an M.A. and B.A. in physics with a mathematics concentration and a B.A. in psychology with concentrations in computer science and physics, all from the City University of New York.

He has been involved in a wide variety of exploration and experimentation including neuroscience work in feeding behavior at Brooklyn College – CUNY; scientific computing and simulation in astrophysics for NASA MUSPIN; sleep behavior research at Medgar Evers College – CUNY and Kingsbrook Medical Center; battery and energy storage research and theoretical physics at Hunter College – CUNY in collaboration with Brookhaven National Laboratory and NASA Jet Propulsion Lab (JPL); graphene device physics research at Columbia University and nanophotonics, artificial intelligence and robotics at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.

Onyeama is currently with the Johns Hopkins Uinversity Applied Physics Laboratory where he is a Senior Professional Staff Research Scientist/Engineer. He can also be seen in the trailer and movie “Robots 3D” from National Geographic for his work with a child android, the iCub.
